As the author of the groundbreaking book “The Market Gardener,” which has sold over 250,000 copies worldwide, JM has reshaped the small-scale agricultural landscape by inspiring readers to reimagine ecological, human-scale food systems.

Through his involvement with The Market Gardener Institute, he and his team empower the next generation of growers to establish thriving small ecological farms globally.

Recently honored with the Meritorious Service Cross by the Governor General of Canada for his contributions to the advancement of regenerative agriculture, JM’s latest ventures include the establishment of Espace Old Mill, a farm-to-table restaurant recently recognized as one of the top 10 new restaurants in Canada.

What You’ll Learn and Gain from the Workshop

This workshop will help you step back and see your farm as a whole — as a system of people, tools, and decisions that must work together.

JM Fortier will present principles that increase efficiency, stability, and long-term sustainability. If you want to work smarter, build a stronger team, and reduce chaos during the season, this day will give you clear tools to make it happen

A Clear System Instead of Chaos

You’ll understand how to set up your farm to function predictably — from work organization to daily routines. Less improvisation, more structure.

A Stronger Team Without Burnout

Learn how to lead people so they can move through the season with energy. How to prevent overload, clarify responsibilities, and create a healthy, motivating work environment.

Productivity Without Unnecessary Investments

Discover how to make better use of your tools, infrastructure, and farm setup to save both time and money — without constantly needing new investments.

Space for Your Questions

Through the interactive portion, you’ll have the opportunity to bring up real questions from your own farm and gain direct insight from JM Fortier and his 20+ years of experience.
